FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Calling All Filmmakers!!! 2011 NY Surf Film Festival Submissions Now Open through May 15th. Fourth Annual New York Surf Film Festival Returns to NYC September 2011 February 3, 2011 New York, NY –After another successful year at the famous Tribeca Cinemas, the annual New York Surf Film Festival has officially opened 2011 submissions for its fourth installment in Manhattan. The New York Surf Film Festival is the premiere three day event celebrating surf films with screenings of independent short and feature films, cult classics, and world premieres from established and emerging surf filmmakers. Both New Yorkers and the international audience can expect a packed program filled with film, art, and music slated for the September 2011 event. "For the past three years, the New York Surf Film Festival has increased the mainstream recognition of the surf film-making craft by establishing a global platform that empowers aspiring filmmakers with shoestring budgets to expose their work to a wider audience," says veteran surf filmmaker Taylor Steele. "The New York City surf and general art communities really appreciate the creativity and beauty of the projects screened and are stoked every year to pack the theaters to celebrate these selected filmmakers." The New York Surf Film Competition is open to feature-length and short films in the surf genre. In order to be considered for the Festival’s Film Competition, submitted films must have been completed after July 2006. The running time for features must be greater than 30 minutes. Short films under 30 minutes in length are eligible for participation in the Short Film Program. Submissions are open thru May 15th, 2011. The online submission form and complete information regarding eligibility and entry rules for the 2011 New York Surf Film Festival are available on the New York Surf Film Festival website at www.NYSurfFilm.com. Check out our newly instated internship program and apply here for the 2011 Spring and Fall Semesters. New York Surf Film Festival The New York Surf Film Festival is the premier showcase for international independent and established surf films. The mission of the New York Surf Film Festival is to provide filmmakers who are exploring the diversity of surfing an opportunity to present their work to a larger audience. As surf culture becomes more popular, the notion of what it means to be a surfer expands. The New York Surf Film Festival's aim is to build upon and shape the idea of what a surf movie is, while fostering the growth of this global community in NYC.

Thanks Wimpy. I wear Ally's actually and find that they run pretty close to shoe size. I am a size 11.5 shoe and have the 10.5-12. I wear them with 5mm socks and have a great fit.
What kind of socks are you wearing?
